In Mexican cuisine, pico de gallo, also called salsa fresca, is made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh serranos (chilies), salt, and lime juice. Other ingredients, such as shrimp, or avocado, are also sometimes added.
Ingredients:
3 large tomatoes diced
1 large onion diced
2 tablespoons diced Jalapenos (replaced the serrano chilies)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro (diced)
2 teaspoons Salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
Method:
Mix all ingredients together in large container until well blended. Allow setting for at least 6 hours, it is better if allowed to sit overnight.
